That is what I love to do. That is me. I want to help as many people as possible to be the very best version of themselves. Whether it’s working 1:1 with you, or on my daily radio show I love to encourage people to get up and go. It doesn’t matter what has happened or what is happening, we can still be who we are and do what we do. We can still love our pursuits.
I know how it can feel to lack confidence. To not believe you’re good enough. But we can’t let that stop us, or hold us back. I’ve been ridiculed and abused to the point that I struggled to believe in myself or value who I am. But I kept coming back stronger. On the outside I looked super confident and strong but I was dealing with so much inside of me. And with each mistake, or setback, I overcame my fears and found more courage to carry on.
I refused to allow anyone to put me in a box.
I STILL DO.
And now I am on a mission to empower others to become the very best version of themselves by showing them how to be confident in themselves, place value in themselves, to get up and go, show up consistently, take action and increase their visibility using social media.
MY JOURNEY
IN 2013 I LEFT MY 9-5 AFTER 5 YEARS TO FOCUS ON TAKING CARE OF MY THEN 7 YEAR OLD SON AND MY 2-AND-A-HALF-YEAR-OLD BOY & GIRL TWINS. IT WAS A LONG TIME COMING, BUT ONE DAY I MADE UP MY MIND.
Something had to give, and it wasn’t going to be me or my family. So I left. I had a plan in mind, and went to interviews, but nothing stuck. Nothing worked out. And I’m so glad it didn’t. But that doesn’t mean I wasn’t worried. Of course I was. I’m a ‘DOER.’ I always have been, so that was always at the back of my mind.
All I knew beyond that corporate 9-5 life was how to inspire people with music. So I started to treat the gospel concerts I’d been running as a hobby, as my job. I planned them. Organised them. I negotiated prices with suppliers, and rates with headliners. Most importantly, I started to market them using social media.
THEY WERE FREE, BUT THE AUDIENCES GREW AND GREW.
During that time, music became more and more a part of my life. I’d had my confidence knocked and I wanted to help others using my voice. After a year of hard work, in March 2014, I launched my debut album. I wanted it to be more than just on display. Or stuck on a shelf. So I used my expertise to promote it. It was a huge success. Maybe not financially, but I reached so many people. More than anything, my confidence grew. I stopped being scared. I stopped being afraid to be the woman I knew I was meant to be. I believed in me. I started to step out and took part in interviews from radio stations, bloggers and PR agents. I was making a difference to people I never thought I’d reach, and I started to be nominated for and receive awards. My audience was growing, and growing fast.
At the heart of everything I do is to support, help, inspire, empower and add value to others. So I began to offer my services free of charge to other upcoming artists like me, helping them to start up their social media, by applying the same techniques I used.
I WANTED TO HELP MORE PEOPLE LIKE ME.
AND I FOUND MY THING. BUT I KNEW I NEEDED TO TURN THIS PASSION INTO PROFIT.
So I went to study a master’s in digital marketing and also got a diploma in social media marketing so that I could do just that. Since then I have been able to create and grow an online radio station from scratch and after 5 years received an OFCOM Licence to broadcast on DAB in Edinburgh & Glasgow Scotland with a weekly audience of 117,000 listeners and my social media channels to over 60,000 across platforms. I always felt I was just a singer, but I’ve discovered myself through the process in my journey and transitions into the different hats that I wear.

I have been able to learn from business coaches, mentors and other entrepreneurs how to use different technologies, how to market myself, how to attract and grow the right kind of audience and how to sell without feeling salesy.
